About the event

While the UK seems to be moving into a post-pandemic landscape, the effects of the pandemic linger. For therapists and healthcare workers, the emotions this stirs up in us - as well as our patients - may feel more challenging than anything we've come across in our careers before.

In this two hour workshop - with a strong emphasis on a safe space - we will workshop:

  • How trauma manifests in our workplaces and those we work with
  • How to spot traumatic symptoms in those we work with
  • How best to respond to patients/clients who are experiencing trauma
  • How existing theories help us understand our new landscapes: we will cover Adverse Childhood Experiences, physiological and neurological responses to trauma, developmental trauma, and use psychoanalytic theory to provide a window into the mind

Each workshop attendee will come away with a suite of resources on working with those experiencing trauma and an attendance certificate.
